“Hoo! Hoo!” cried out a screech owl. Elizabeth was frightened and tripped over a log. She screamed with pain when she fell to the ground. The moist earth under her smelt of rain and moss. She tried to get up, but to her discovery she couldn’t. She had twisted her ankle, and had a very severe cut up her leg. Elizabeth sighed a deep sigh. She raised her head to look over the log, and where the light once was, there was no more. She turned her head looking side to side, and to her great astonishment she could see a little cave.
“If only I could drag myself over there.” She thought.
Elizabeth lay on her stomach and dragged herself towards the cave. Dark clouds covered the moon and rain started to pour. The wind blew the rain hard and it stung Elizabeth’s eyes. She only stopped for a second to rub them with her grubby hands, but kept on dragging herself through the dirt that had turned into mud.
She had finally reached the cave drenched in water, and was covered in mud.
